I realized that I never posted my first iteration of my lamp, so here it is:
THe goal with the first iteration was to create a night-lamp that would combine colors of light and begin to glow as lights go out. I wanted it to be something that would turn itself off completely if there was enough light in the room, already, and be at full brightness once the room reached a certain darkness, so I experimented with different divisors under the output number from my light sensor, and used the 'constrain' function to limit the resulting number to a minimum of 0 (no light) or a maximum of 255 (full brightness). The power for the lamp comes via the USB cable, through the pipe on which it is mounted.
Below is a video I made (awkwardly) while playing with the light (the light is in one hand, the camera in the other).
