This is a clear use of Arduino and an LED Matrix to do some simple, mario style gaming. Very Cool.

This LED cube matrix is a series of multiple LED matrix's and have been programed to understand x, y, and z direction.

This fan is creating a continuous image with the rotation of its fan blades.
