for Making Wireless Toys class (Oct. 10)

Deliverables

• Give a name or title to your toy
• Where is he/she/it from?
• Explain its reason for being
• Take 2 photos of the toy (on/off) in context

For the next plush class (10.3)

1. Put a photo of your toy on the blog
2. Bring your flashlight circuit (if you don't know how to make one, pair up with someone)
3. Bring zippers or velcro.

The sewing machines are available in the lab. we are the only class using these machines, if they break we're stuck...

A good place to get materials in Brooklyn

The place that was mentioned in class is Quality Fabrics Inc.,
it's in Williamsburg at 582 Grand St.
Lots of stuff, stuffing, fabrics, ornaments, felt, velvet...
I am pretty new to all this but i think it's pretty cheap too.

Homework:

Bring:
-Pattern for 2D toy, printed out on paper
-Felt, if you have a fabric preference.
-Batteries
-Solderless breadboad*
-Battery Holder*
-LED (white, superbright)
-sewing kit
-wire*
-scissors
-15 dollars for Yury's fabric
-stuffing (also called "batting" and "fiberfill" if you ask them at the store)
-8" zipper
-.5 yard of white cotton  (plain woven)

*we may have these things in the pcomp cabinets in the lab, ask a technician to open them
