I made two red blood cells, one normal and one sickle. The healthy cell lights up bright white, and the sickle-cell lights up a dimmer purple, indicating it is poorly oxygenated. In the light (switched off):

I also made this mobile from some Swedish fabric I had stashed away (heh, get it? Swedish? fish?). My cat got a kick out of the extra plushy fish:
hmmmm take a wild guess at what this is supposed to be?..............if you guess a turtle then your a damn liar...LOL So what its my first attempted at sewing a plushie just check back and see the improvement.
This guy goes by the name of Two Boots. As a baby turtle, Boots spent a little too much time hanging around Nevada's Yucca Mountain. The result: some growing pains here and there, but he doesn't like to talk about it. Boots still hasn't found a use for his second head, but the lopsided feet come in handy when treading around in circles of water.
First sewing job worth speaking about, the rounded edges and tight turns proved to be good practice on the machine. Extremities were stuffed slightly, then partitioned off with thread. Dark green cords were used as the fabric.
He lives among the woods...
This is how he came to life:
1. Trace the self-mafe patter on to the fabric.
2. Cut him out & sew it.
This is my first plush, made with pastel green fleece fabric on my mint green mini sewing machine. It's an S from an old alphabet pattern I found on ebay. It was so easy I made another for my friend Samantha. I seriously stared at this thing when I finished, amazed that I had just made something with a sewing machine when a day before I couldn't tell you what a bobbin was to save my life.
From there I think I caught the sewing bug! During the long weekend, I started working on a plush whale from another pattern I had for the led flashlight assignment, and also made a bunny for a project for another class, this time designing my own pattern! I think I just found a new (and conveniently cuddly) addiction.

Here is my first attempt at making a gingerbread man. they look so tasty don't they? With their gumdrop buttons and frosting smiles....

I redid the sewing of the gingerbread man on a different sewing machine, i couldn't shame him that much. so here he is in better form. can't have any angry gingers now....this is him turned inside out
and this is him stuffed, he's taking much better form but still reminds me of a voodoo doll..
