Magical Mystery Tour : I started to document various places in Flatbush, Crown Heights and Bed Stuy. This is a map I plan to continually add to.
Brooklyn Historical Society: Lost in transition is a current exhibit at the BHS that is a commentary created by teenagers living in south Brooklyn. The exhibit displays student work from The Urban Memory Project , an analysis by Brooklyn youth using photography, sound and video to discuss the changes taking place in their neighborhoods.
Bed-Stuy Restoration Corporation: An organization developed by Senator
Robert F. Kennedy and Jacob Javits in 1967. It's aim is to is "to be the catalyst for the progressive
improvement of the quality of life for
the people of Bedford Stuyvesant. They carry out this mission through
economic, cultural, educational and
social ventures that both revitalize the community and serve as pioneering
models for distressed communities
nationwide."
Gothamist: An organization dedicated to examining and exploring the city's rich history, and to make it more

Yello Arrow: A project that uses yellow arrow stickers to mark locations in cities all over the world. The yellow arrows provide a link between digital content and real locations.

Thought: There will probably need to be some type of connection with php and mysql to make it where the correct audio files can be accessed, changing the CallXML/VXML file slightly each time. This functionality is possible.

INFORMATION ABOUT YANTRAS Yantra is a Sanskrit word that is derived from the root meaning "to restrain, curb, check". Meanings for the noun derived from this root include "that which restrains or fastens, any prop or support", "a fetter", "any instrument or machine", "an amulet, a mystical or astronomical diagram used as an amulet."
Some Hindu esoteric practitioners employ yantra, mantra and other items in their sadhana, puja and yajna.
Yantra, or other permutations and cognate phenomena such as Mandala, Rangoli, Kolam, Rangavalli and other sacred geometrical traditions, are endemic throughout Indian religions.
Yantra as astronomical map Yantra is basically a diagram representing the astronomical position of the planets over a given date and time. It is considered auspicious in Hindu mythology. These yantras are made up on various objects such as paper, precious stones, and metal plates. It is believed[attribution needed] that if we, as humans, follow the basic principal of constantly concentrating on the representation, it helps you build fortunes, as planets above have their peculiar gravity which governs basic emotions and karma, derived to attain satisfaction.[citation needed] These yantras are made on a particular date and time depending on the prescribed procedures defined under Vedas. Yantra as portal of communion Yantra contain geometric items and archetypal shapes and patterns namely squares, triangles, circles and floral patterns; but may also include bija mantra and more complex and detailed symbols. Bindu is central, core and instrumental to yantra. Yantra function as revelatory conduits of cosmic truths. Yantra, as instrument and spiritual technology, may be appropriately envisioned as prototypical and esoteric concept mapping machines or conceptual looms.Certain yantra are held to embody the energetic signatures of, for example, the Universe, consciousness, ishta-devata. Though often rendered in two dimensions through art, yantra are
conceived and conceptualised by practitioners as multi-dimensional sacred architecture and in this quality are identical with their correlate the mandala. Meditation and trance induction that generates the yantra of the subtle body in the complementary modes of the upatti-krama and sampana-krama are invested in the various lineages of tantric transmission as
exterior and interior sacred architecture that potentiate the accretion
and manifestation of siddhi.
hanna (2003: p.21) in linking Mantra, Yantra, Ishta-devata, and thoughtforms states: Mantras, the Sanskrit syllables inscribed on yantras, are essentially 'thought forms' representing divinities or cosmic powers, which exert their influence by means of sound-vibrations

The following are snap shots of getting MAXMsp and Processing talking to each other. I found out that the file path is really crucial especially in MAX. If you don't have the right file path, nothing works. Also it is important NOT to have the same copy of the file in MAX.
The following is diagram of a potential installation location in Los Angeles, California. The city is called San Pedro also known as the Port of LA. It is an loft in an artist community. I would like to integrate myself into a sound/visual installation performance here.
The following is called the Dream Machine. I thought this was be very interesting to install in this gallery. The first picture is my quick prototype of the Dream Machine. The second picture is what it should look like. It is a stroboscopic flicker device that produces visual stimuli.

PROTOTYPES: All of these prototypes explore the idea of exploration and interpretation. I want to explore the city and its recent cultural changes in relation to the changes in the physical landscape. Local venues are constantly being replaced. With a collaborative effort of a handful of people I would like to create an observational "closed and forgotten" tour. Everyone involved has a duty to the team. They interpret each location with the tool they are provided. I-pods, digital cameras, pencils, voice recorders, walkie talkies, mobile phones, etch-a sketch and mad-libs are some examples. Ultimately I hope that this collaboration will document each destination in a way which will communicate its past, current and future place in history.

1. This is one idea that explores the idea of community. The circles identify local venues in Brooklyn that have closed down over the past couple of years. Scroll over them and they change color, click on them and text appears describing the location.
These examples demonstrate the idea of collaboration and/or activity that adds quality to life. Each example focuses on individual activity contributing to a larger whole. The most appealing thing for me is the "escape" each one creates for user.
